Practicing labor, employment and municipal law, Joëlle C. Khouzam is a partner with Bricker's employment law group. She routinely represents employers and management in labor and employment law matters, workers’ compensation, and municipal law. She also helps property owners and property management companies defend fair-housing discrimination cases. She was appointed as City Attorney to Grandview Heights, Ohio in January 2006. Joëlle also serves as a mediator on employment cases, and has also been appointed by the EEOC as a volunteer mediator on employment charges.
"My experiences working in a corporate law department, on Capitol Hill, and in private practice have all lent different perspectives to how to serve the employer community," says Joëlle. "I enjoy not only helping clients solve legal problems practically but also proactively training clients on subjects and working with them to develop practices designed to reduce needless and costly lawsuits. This includes in-house training on subjects like workplace harassment, proper personnel documentation, wage-and-hour compliance, OSHA and safety. I am often asked to speak or write on various developments in employment law."
