Michael Gibbens has handled a wide range of complex cases, including antitrust, appeals, aviation, construction, environmental, energy and natural resources, franchising, insurance, intellectual property, labor and employment and securities
.A director in the firm’s Tulsa office, he is an honors graduate of Rice University (B.A., cum laude, 1978) and The University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1981), where he was Order of the Coif. He served as a federal judicial law clerk for Judge William J. Holloway, Jr. of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Michael also has been a leader within the firm, in his profession and community. He is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, listed as a Best Lawyer in the fields of bet-the-company litigation, commercial litigation, franchise law, litigation–mergers and acquisitions and litigation–securities (1999 – Present), ranked by Chambers USA Band 2 (litigation: general commercial) and is rated by Super Lawyers in energy and natural resources, business litigation and aviation and aerospace. He was also named a Best Lawyers 2016 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation Securities (Tulsa).* Locally, Michael served as president of a local arts organization.
