Taryn Burnett is a partner in firm's Calgary office. Her practice focuses on civil litigation and privacy related matters.
In her civil litigation practice, Taryn's practice focuses on professional and product liability. Taryn acts on product liability cases in various industries, including the automobile industry, where she has been the trusted adviser to a large industry client migrating their risk, providing creative solutions and delivering dedicated client service. In addition, she regularly represents the interests of physicians, psychologists, accountants, engineers, architects and many other professionals in defending claims arising out of errors and omission, insurance coverage issues and related matters. In addition, she advises clients in respect of matters involving professional regulatory bodies.
In her privacy practice, Taryn advises clients on issues pertaining to privacy compliance, responding to privacy breaches and requests for access to information as well as other legal issues of significance to clients relating to privacy. She has appeared as counsel on privacy related matters before the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, professional regulatory bodies and other administrative bodies.
Taryn has appeared in the courts at all levels including the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, Trial Division and the Federal Court of Appeal.
