The Best Lawyers in Brazil™ Awards

For the 13th year, Best Lawyers is proud to present The Best Lawyers in Brazil™ for 2023. This year’s awards honor 2,310 lawyers across 66 practice areas. Lawyers are awarded in 16 metropolitan areas in Brazil, with the most recognitions in São Paulo.

Along with individual lawyer awards, we are also honored to recognize 105 “Lawyer of the Year” awards for 2023. "Lawyer of the Year" honors are awarded annually to only one lawyer per practice area in each region with extremely high overall feedback from their peers, making it an exceptional distinction.

Within the 66 awarded practice areas, the 10 with the most Best Lawyers honorees include: Corporate and M&A Law, Tax Law, Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation, Intellectual Property Law, Administrative Law, Capital Markets Law, Banking and Finance Law, Labor and Employment Law and Competition / Antitrust Law.

A Brief History of Best Lawyers

“Law Firm of the Year” Awards

“Law Firm of the Year” awards recognize a single top firm for its work in a specific legal practice area nationwide. Awards are determined based on a handful of factors including lawyer feedback, the number of lawyers included in Best Lawyers for that firm and practice area, the number of office locations a firm has, historical analysis of the firm’s “Lawyer of the Year” awards, materials submitted by firms, and the firm’s overall scope and areas of expertise.
