Harrison Scheer

Harrison Scheer is a trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and intellectual-property cases. No matter the industry or case type, Harrison loves to dive into the weeds, solve the factual puzzles, and assess the best way to distill and communicate complex facts to judges and juries. These traits help him orchestrate cases from inception to final judgment, which oftentimes taps into Harrison’s true passion: trying cases.

He’s tried nine cases, picked three juries, and has examined over a dozen witnesses ranging from experts to named defendants. These cases include:

• Winning $42 million verdict against Energy Transfer in a trespass case involving an acid gas injection well and mineral rights. Harrison took and defended several depositions, quarterbacked dispositive motions, and examined two expert witnesses at trial.

• A complete take-nothing award in a $150 million breach of contract confidential arbitration between two multinational energy companies.

• After picking a jury on behalf of a sports organization alleging trademark infringement, the defendants offered to settle for damages beyond plaintiff’s request, attorneys’ fees, and agreed to an injunction to cease using the plaintiff’s trademark.

Outside the courtroom, Harrison also knows how to win at every stage before trial. He’s secured temporary injunctions, successfully drafted and argued dispositive motions, and has favorably settled cases when it makes sense to do so.

Harrison was named to the 2024 and 2025 list of “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” for commercial litigation. This is a national peer review award developed by Best Lawyers in America to target associates for their outstanding professional excellence early in their careers.

Harrison started at AZA in 2016 as a summer associate, where he continued to work during his second summer of law school and as a 3L. Before law school, Harrison won a state and national championship in college speech and debate, winning gold medals in Parliamentary and Lincoln-Douglas debate. Harrison also serves as an election judge during presidential elections.
