Brian LaCien is a Chicago trial attorney and founding partner of Smith LaCien LLP, a personal injury law firm he established with Todd A. Smith. The firm represents individuals and families in complex personal injury, medical malpractice, aviation, and mass tort matters throughout Illinois and nationwide.
Brian and Todd have obtained more than $3 billion in reported verdicts and settlements for clients, including more than 100 matters involving results of at least $1 million. Past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future matter.
Brian began his legal career as an assistant legal counsel to the Illinois House of Representatives. He later joined Power Rogers & Smith, where he practiced personal injury law for many years. In March 2020, he co-founded Smith LaCien LLP and continued representing injured individuals as an accident attorney in Chicago.
Brian earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
