Allyson received her undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Kansas. While attending KU, she volunteered at several local schools and worked as an in-home teacher for a young woman with autism.
Allyson also volunteers with Equip for Equality, providing pro bono legal services through its Special Education Clinic. Her work includes representing students at annual Individualized Education Program meetings, mediations concerning educational accommodations, and administrative due process hearings.
