East Coast Elder Law, PLLC was established in 2025, inspired by our founder's early involvement with the special needs community during high school. These formative experiences brought to light the unique challenges faced by families caring for loved ones, including navigating complex legal frameworks, financial planning challenges, and the emotional burden of securing ongoing care and protection. After completing her legal education, Shannon Laymon-Pecoraro expanded her mission to support the broader elder law community, understanding the importance of careful planning and advocacy for older adults dealing with healthcare choices, long-term care, and estate planning.
The principles guiding our work at East Coast Elder Law:
1. Compassionate Advocacy
We understand that every legal issue involves a family with specific challenges. Our approach focuses on listening and empathy, seeking to gain a complete understanding of your situation before offering solutions.
2. Accessibility
Our aim is to make legal guidance understandable. By breaking down complex concepts into clear, straightforward language, we equip our clients to make informed and confident decisions.
3. Dignity-Centered Planning
Maintaining dignity and autonomy is essential, particularly as one ages or lives with special needs. Our planning approach prioritizes independence while ensuring protective measures are integrated at every stage of life.
4. Lifelong Partnership
Planning is an ongoing process rather than a single event. We are committed to building enduring relationships with our clients, providing continuous support through life's changes and diverse situations, from retirement planning to end-of-life care decisions.
