Robert S. Peckar is a founding partner of Peckar & Abramson, P.C. Since its formation in 1978, P&A has developed into one of the nation’s largest and leading construction law firms with almost one hundred attorneys in eight offices in the United States.
Though the first half of his career largely concentrated on construction litigation, since then he has developed a national reputation for his success in assisting clients and projects resolve project problems in creative ways, often utilizing ADR techniques, resulting in the avoidance of litigation and the maintenance of commercial relationships.
Mr. Peckar has extensive experience in construction arbitration as an advocate and as an arbitrator including AAA, ICDR and ICC arbitration. He has lectured and written extensively about construction law issues and dispute resolutions processes. He serves as General Counsel Emeritus of the New York Building Congress, General Counsel of the National Construction Financial Management Association and General Counsel of the New York Building Trades Employers Association.
Mr. Peckar is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers where he has chaired its ADR Committee. He graduated from Rutgers College and Columbia Law School.
