Bob focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, counseling and enforcement matters, with a particular emphasis on patent and trademark litigation. He has extensive experience in disputes involving various technologies, including electronic commerce and software applications, logistics and GPS-based systems, electronics, telecommunications, and prepaid and financial services products. He also assists clients in managing and protecting their intellectual property portfolios, including coordinating their domestic and international patent and trademark activities.

Bob has authored numerous articles on intellectual property, and is a frequent presenter on topics in the areas of intellectual property, electronic discovery and federal court practices. He is active in the Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

  • Geotag Inc. (E.D.Tex.) (2012) – Lead counsel for group of over 40 defendants in numerous lawsuits filed by same plaintiff alleging infringement of patent directed to website applications
  • DietGoal Innovations LLC (E.D.Tex.) 2012) – Lead counsel for group of 9 defendants in lawsuit alleging infringement of patent directed to online meal planning and nutrition applications.
  • LBS Innovations LLC (E.D.Tex.) (2012) - Lead counsel for group of over 15 defendants in numerous lawsuits filed by same plaintiff alleging infringement of patent directed to website applications.
  • Webvention LLL MDL Action (D.Md.) (2012) – Represent numerous defendants in separate actions involving ecommerce and website applications consolidated in MDL proceeding in District of Maryland.
  • PJC Logistics LLC MDL Action (D.Minn.) (2012) – Defended UPS and The Coca-Cola Company in a patent case involving GPS-based vehicle tracking and telematics systems. Successfully resolved the matter for both clients following MDL consolidation.

  • Landmark Technology LLC (E.D.Tex.) (2009, 2011) – Represented numerous defendants in cases involving patents related to ecommerce and EDI applications. Cases successfully resolved.
  • WNS Holdings, LLC v. UPS (W.D.Wisc.) (2009) – Defended UPS in a patent case involving navigation and surveillance avionics applications installed in UPS aircraft. Prevailed on motion for summary judgment of non-infringed, affirmed on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
  • ArrivalStar et al. v. UPS et al. (W.D.Penn.) (2008) – Defended UPS in a patent case involving vehicle and packaging delivery and shipment notification systems. Successfully resolved the matter following extensive discovery and favorable claim construction.
  • Gildersleeve Holdings AG, LLC (E.D.Tex. and N.D.Ga.) (2009, 2011) – Represented numerous defendants in defense groups in two separate cases filed by Gildersleeve involving a patent related to electronic commerce applications. Cases successfully resolved following discovery and development of substantial prior art.

  • Represented affiliated companies in numerous patent lawsuits involving prepaid product offerings, including prepaid wireless, long distance and credit cards. Successfully resolved matters in the clients’ favor after extensive discovery and favorable claim construction proceedings.
  • Counsel to a publicly traded apparel manufacturer for trademark and copyright matters, including domestic and foreign portfolio management and enforcement. Secured numerous temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions against counterfeiters, and successfully coordinated federal, state and local authorities in seizure of over $1 million in counterfeit apparel.
  • Represented the provider of exhibition equipment systems in a patent and trademark lawsuit against a foreign competitor attempting to launch products at trade show. Successfully resolved the matter in the client’s favor after obtaining a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction preventing further infringement of the client’s patents and trademarks.
  • Represented a software developer in a copyright, breach of contract, breach of warranty, fraud and trade secrets dispute relating to the development of a biometric software solution for a leading data and information processing company. Successfully resolved the matter in the client’s favor with a substantial monetary sum.
