Becky DeCook provides experienced and detailed counsel on telecommunications and energy matters. For more than 20 years she has represented clients in arbitrations, mediations, state and federal court proceedings, and proceedings before state utility commissions throughout the Central and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States, as well as before the Federal Energy Commission and the Federal Communications Commission. Becky has represented interexchange and local exchange carriers, cable and wireless companies, business customers, and energy companies, including independent power producers.
With an in-depth knowledge of utilities law and regulations, Becky offers strategic representation in regulatory compliance and litigation, as well as in the negotiation, drafting, and resolution of interconnection agreements, certification, franchising, mergers & acquisitions, intercarrier compensation disputes, deregulation, ETC, universal service, and other regulatory matters.
In her closely-related energy practice, Becky counsels clients on intercompany disputes and regulatory matters and assists with effective resource planning for responsible acquisition, provisioning, allocation, and assessment of alternative energy sources.
Becky is also a skilled employment attorney. She has served as counsel to corporations and organizations in employment and labor relations matters, including discrimination, discipline, FMLA, ADA, harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour issues, and employee organization.
