Michael P. "Mike" Kane

Mike Kane is a personal injury attorney in Colorado and specializes in trucking, auto and catastrophic injury litigation. He also represents victims of sexual assault against institutions and individuals.

Mr. Kane is a former US Marine who served a tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the military, he returned to Colorado and served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Arapahoe and Douglas County DA’s Offices. As a prosecutor, he tried over 50 jury trials ranging from homicide and sexual assault to traffic infractions. He then entered civil practice and has focused exclusively on the representation of injured plaintiffs.

Highlights of his civil practice include a $6 million-dollar jury verdict against a commercial bus company and an $8 million-dollar settlement in a contested liability trucking case. Mr. Kane represented a young woman who was sexually assaulted by her elementary school teacher and negotiated a $5 million dollar settlement against the school district. In 2023 Mr. Kane won a $900k+ jury verdict against Home Depot in a premises liability case.

Mr. Kane is known as an aggressive litigator and believes in taking the fight to the insurance companies. He is frequently asked to speak and has given multiple presentations at Colorado Trial Lawyers Association events. He believes the greatest honor in the legal profession is helping injured victims and their families obtain the justice they deserve.Mr. Kane also believes in giving back to the veteran community. He is a board member of the Colorado Bar Association's Military and Veteran Affairs section and regularly participates in veteran-focused fundraisers.
