Chuck is a trial lawyer of 29 years whose practice focuses primarily in the defense of national and international corporations in product liability, employment, toxic tort, commercial, intellectual property, and catastrophic personal injury matters. Licensed in Alabama and Tennessee, Chuck’s extensive litigation experience is national in scope. He has handled a wide variety of cases in Texas, California, Massachusetts, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Utah.
Although most of his cases fall into one of the aforementioned categories, Chuck has also successfully tried several other types of complex cases, including a six-week-long class action price-fixing case, a racial steering case involving the sale of real estate, and a breach of contract and fraud matter filed against a company by its group health insurer. He successfully defended the trial of a start-up corporation in a lawsuit brought by a major movie distributor, involving claims of copyright infringement, intentional interference with contractual relations, deceptive trade practices, and breach of contract. Chuck has also represented attorneys, hospitals, and architects in actions alleging malpractice.
Chuck’s product liability matters include defending manufacturers, distributors, component part suppliers, and retailers in cases involving allegations of defective cars, trucks, off-road vehicles, large trucks, seat belts, air bags, tires, building products, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, HVAC systems, boats, and elevators. His employment trials include claims for lifetime employment and wrongful termination, as well as race, color, sex, disability, pregnancy, FMLA, and age discrimination.
He also acts as national trial counsel for a building products manufacturer. In that capacity, Chuck has defended cases in numerous states across the country.
