For over 30 years, Zul Verjee has stood at the forefront of commercial litigation and insurance litigation in Alberta and across Canada. Zul is recognized as a leading litigation trial lawyer across Canada and North America. He has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta, the Federal Court of Canada and conducted over 100 mediations and Judicial Dispute Resolution conferences. Zul’s practice spans the most complex disputes including commercial litigation, major personal injury and fatality claims, construction and fire losses, wrap-up liability policies, oil and gas disputes, partnership issues and employment litigation. His record of success in both jury and non-jury trials has made him a fierce advocate across Canada. He has been lead counsel of record in over 90 reported decisions.

Recognized nationally and internationally, Zul is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only society limited to the top trial lawyers in North America. He has been named to Best Lawyers in Canada every year since 2014 and has been ranked by Lexpert as one of Canada’s leading litigation counsel for over 15 years. In 2012, the Government of Alberta appointed him King’s Counsel, one of the profession’s highest honours.
