Biography

Zackeree Sean Kelin, a member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, is a founding partner of Davis Kelin LLC and practices as a personal injury attorney in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His work focuses on representing individuals and families in complex injury litigation, including Medical Malpractice Law - Plaintiffs and Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs. His practice also includes catastrophic injury claims, civil rights litigation, insurance bad faith cases, and matters involving Indian law.

Zackeree began his legal career with DNA-People’s Legal Services, Inc. (“DNA”), the oldest and largest poverty law organization serving Indian Country. While there, he represented indigent individuals, tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations in tribal, state, and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies and legislative bodies. His work addressed a range of issues, including poverty law, Indian law, environmental matters, and the protection of sacred sites.

Background

Zackeree earned his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. During law school, he clerked for the Native American Rights Fund and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. He is also a graduate of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College.

He is involved in several professional and community organizations. Zackeree is a member of the American Association for Justice Leaders Forum and serves on the University of Iowa Alumni Leadership Council. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Native American Disability Law Center, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the Caddo Nation Economic Development Authority.

Zackeree previously served as a Commissioner on the New Mexico Civil Rights Commission, where he participated in work that contributed to the passage of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act. He currently serves as a special prosecutor in New Mexico’s Second Judicial District.

Throughout his career, Zackeree has helped obtain published appellate opinions addressing tort law, Indian law, and New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act. He has also helped secure more than $100 million in settlements and verdicts on behalf of injured clients, including several significant recoveries in New Mexico.
