Yves Robillard

Yves Robillard is a litigator with more than 30 years of experience in sophisticated commercial litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of industry sectors, from banks and insurers to major manufacturers in commercial and contractual disputes as well as ‘high stakes’ securities litigation matters. His approach is to focus on devising and implementing strategies to mitigate risk, reduce nuisance litigation, and ensure that his clients’ interests are protected in the long term.

A member of the firm’s Insurance Defence group, Yves brings exceptional perspective from having handled complex breaches of contract, financial and professional negligence and insurance liability matters.

He has an impressive and extensive track record, pleading before all levels of court, arbitration panels, administrative tribunal and regulatory boards. He also has extensive experience in mediation and regularly provides general advice to his clients in connection with anticipated major business transactions. He has argued more than 70 reported cases before the Court of Appeal of Québec and more than 130 cases before the Superior Court of Québec.

He is a keynote speaker for the International Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association de planification fiscale et financière, the Québec Bar, banks and other financial institutions, as well as for various professional firms and associations.
