Yuichi Watanabe advises businesses on intellectual property matters with a focus on Patent Law. Based in Houston, Texas, and practicing with Osha Bergman Watanabe & Burton LLP, he works with domestic and international clients to develop practical strategies for protecting and managing intellectual property assets in a global marketplace.
Yuichi’s practice includes many aspects of U.S. patent law, including patent application drafting and prosecution, due diligence, licensing, opinion preparation, patent portfolio management, district court litigation, and proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Earlier in his career, he focused on complex patent litigation involving a variety of technologies, including biomedical devices, consumer electronics, oilfield equipment, and papermaking machinery. His broad experience allows him to counsel clients through both contentious and transactional intellectual property matters.
He represents companies across a range of industries and frequently assists Japanese businesses with U.S. intellectual property matters. Fluent in both Japanese and English, Yuichi regularly advises Japanese corporate clients on patent strategy, cross-border intellectual property issues, and U.S. patent procedures.
