William R. "Bill" MacGregor

Bill MacGregor is a partner in the firm’s Waterloo Region office and the leader of the firm’s Immigration National Practice Group. His practice emphasizes corporate immigration and the cross-border movement of personnel. Bill also provides advice in relation to hiring and employing foreign nationals in Canada.

Bill brings years of experience advising clients on all aspects of corporate immigration. He regularly assists employers with international transfers; obtaining work permits including applications under NAFTA; obtaining Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) from Service Canada; and obtaining immigration documentation for accompanying family members of foreign national recruits.

Bill’s practice also involves assisting in the development of immigration and work permit strategies for a wide variety of clients; preparing immigration and work permit application materials to assist entry; advising on obtaining permanent resident status; advising on a wide variety of issues relating to the cross-border movement of personnel, and a full range of other immigration matters. An expert in his field, Bill regularly provides counsel with respect to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
