Bill Zuckerman, the firm’s managing partner, heads the firm’s Entertainment Group, the preeminent practice in the country focusing on labor relations in the entertainment, media, and technology industries.

Over his more than 20 years devoted to this practice area, Bill has acquired unrivaled knowledge of and experience in this highly specialized field—where business, law, and creativity converge. So equipped, he is adept at efficiently solving problems and otherwise finding solutions for the firm’s hundreds of entertainment and media clients, which now include some of the top tech companies in the world. From collective bargaining, to advice and counsel, to dispute resolution, Bill’s practice covers the full range of entertainment and media labor relations matters.

Prior to his focus on labor relations, Bill trained as a litigator and employment lawyer, and he has substantial experience representing clients in contract actions, discrimination suits, WARN Act and ERISA actions, and the enforcement of employment agreements, including restrictive covenants. As such, Bill advises a variety of clients on all types of employment law issues, including compliance with state and federal anti-discrimination laws and wage and hour laws, reductions-in-force, restrictive covenants, benefits policies, and disciplinary procedures.

Bill attended Columbia College, where, in 1986, he received his undergraduate degree in political science and English, and earned his law degree in 1991 from Rutgers School of Law-Newark, where he was a member of the Rutgers Law Review and held the position of Senior Articles Editor. Bill began his legal career as an associate in the litigation practice of Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York. In 1994, he joined the litigation department of the New York office of Morrison & Foerster, and specialized in labor and employment matters. Bill joined KM&M in 1998; he became a partner in 2000.
