Biography
Chad Roberts is a Memphis, Tennessee attorney with Harris Shelton PLLC whose practice focuses on tax law, business planning, and estate planning. He works with individuals, families, and business owners on legal strategies that address tax considerations, business operations, and long‑term asset planning.
For more than a decade, Chad has advised clients on forming and structuring businesses, planning for tax efficiency, purchasing or selling businesses, and preparing for ownership transitions between generations. His work often involves coordinating business and estate planning goals so clients can manage growth, protect assets, and plan for the future.
Chad also assists families with wills, trusts, and estate planning strategies designed to transfer assets to children, charities, and other beneficiaries. By helping clients think through both tax implications and long‑term family objectives, he works to create plans that support continuity and financial stability across generations.
In addition to planning matters, Chad represents clients in tax disputes involving the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. He has guided individuals and businesses through audits, administrative appeals, and tax litigation, helping them address complex tax issues and move toward resolution.
Chad’s interest in tax law began with a strong curiosity about the tax code and how it shapes financial decisions for businesses and families. Today, he continues to focus his practice on helping clients navigate complex tax rules while planning for business growth, succession, and estate matters.
