William “Chip” Mason is a partner in Gravel & Shea PC’s Corporate Department and has been with the firm since 2003. He has served as a co-managing partner since 2020 and has been a partner since 2006, working with businesses and organizations throughout Burlington, Vermont and the surrounding region.
Prior to joining Gravel & Shea PC, Chip practiced at another well-established Burlington, Vermont law firm, where his work focused primarily on debt and equity financings. This background continues to inform his work with closely held companies, investors, and institutional clients.
Chip’s practice centers on Corporate Law and Corporate Governance Law, with a focus on mergers and acquisition transactions, investment activities, and general corporate matters. He regularly represents private equity funds and companies in debt and equity financings and advises clients on the structuring and negotiation of transactions across a wide range of industries.
In addition, Chip assists clients with corporate governance and organizational matters, including structuring agreements among investors, drafting and negotiating shareholder, partnership, and LLC agreements, and representing issuers and purchasers in the structuring, issuance, and sale of securities. His work emphasizes practical, business-oriented legal guidance tailored to each client’s objectives.
