Biography

Wendy Johnson is a trial lawyer and litigator who joined RMP LLP as a Partner in July 2019. She is based in Springdale, Arkansas, and represents individuals and businesses in complex legal matters at the state and federal levels.

Ms. Johnson co-leads the firm’s Investigations and Corporate Compliance practice. Her work includes advising and representing clients in matters involving Corporate Compliance Law, Corporate Law, Criminal Defense related to white-collar matters, and Litigation and Controversy involving tax issues. She regularly assists organizations and executives with internal investigations, regulatory compliance concerns, and matters involving alleged corporate misconduct.

Ms. Johnson routinely represents clients facing investigations conducted by multiple divisions of the U.S. Department of Justice, including the Criminal Division, Tax Division, Antitrust Division, and the Public Integrity Section. Her practice frequently involves navigating high-stakes government inquiries and coordinating defense strategies across agencies.

Before entering private practice, Ms. Johnson served for 12 years as an Assistant United States Attorney, including in the role of First Assistant United States Attorney, and spent eight years as a state Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. This background provides her with a practical understanding of how federal and state enforcement agencies evaluate and pursue investigations and litigation.

Ms. Johnson has tried numerous jury trials in both state and federal courts and has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She has led defense teams in complex, multi-week trials, including representing a National Sales Director in the poultry industry charged with criminal conspiracy by the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. Following two lengthy trials in Denver that resulted in hung juries, the matter was ultimately dismissed with prejudice by the Antitrust Division. The defense team’s work in the case was recognized as AmLaw’s Litigators of the Week.
