Walter J. Gumersell

Walter J. Gumersell advises businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders on a broad range of corporate, legal, and financial matters. Based in Uniondale, New York, he is a partner at Rivkin Radler LLP and works with clients at various stages of growth, from formation through complex transactions and ongoing operations.

As a partner in Rivkin Radler’s Banking, Corporate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates Practice Groups, Walter represents clients in merger and acquisition transactions, sale and exchange transactions, private securities transactions, commercial loan transactions, and workout transactions. His work spans a variety of industries, including software, banking, insurance, engineering, manufacturing, medical, environmental, distribution, and service businesses. Several of these transactions have involved deal values in excess of $100 million.

Walter regularly counsels large and closely held businesses on day-to-day operational and governance matters. His practice includes Business Organizations, including the formation and operation of LLCs and partnerships, as well as advising on shareholder and equity holder rights, ownership and operating agreements, management authority and fiduciary duties, voluntary and contested dissolutions, financing arrangements, and contractual relationships with customers and vendors.

In addition to his legal practice, Walter lectures on business and tax-related topics for businesses, community organizations, attorneys, and accountants.

He also serves on Rivkin Radler’s New Business Committee.
