W. Andrew "Andrew" Haynes

Andrew Haynes is a personal injury attorney with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, where he has represented injured individuals since joining the firm in 2024. Based in Durham, North Carolina, Andrew focuses his practice on Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. He draws on his prior experience in the insurance industry to advocate for people harmed in accidents across North and South Carolina.

After graduating from East Carolina University, Andrew began his career as an insurance claims adjuster with a national insurance company. As part of a rotational management development program, he gained firsthand experience with automobile insurance claims from initial investigation through resolution. After two and a half years, Andrew relocated to Charlotte, where he continued handling automobile claims for another national insurer, including defending claims in mediation, arbitration, and trial throughout North and South Carolina.

While working full time, Andrew earned his M.B.A. remotely from East Carolina University. His work as an auto accident litigation adjuster for an insurance company in Florida, combined with multiple promotions, gave him a detailed understanding of how insurers evaluate and defend claims. Over time, Andrew recognized that representing injured individuals as an attorney would allow him to put this knowledge to use in a more personally rewarding way.

To pursue this goal, Andrew returned to North Carolina to attend Elon University School of Law. During a summer internship, he assisted with the trial of a motor vehicle accident case. The experience left a lasting impression when a client shared that their preparation together gave her the confidence to stand up to aggressive defense tactics while testifying. That moment affirmed Andrew’s decision to practice law, and he now works to provide clients with clear guidance, preparation, and support throughout the personal injury litigation process.
