Biography

Virginia Symmes Sheehan is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) with many years of experience in the area of trusts and estates. She is actively engaged in the areas of estate planning, elder law, estate and trust administration, federal and state transfer (estate, gift and generation-skipping) taxation and federal and state income (personal and fiduciary) taxation. Virginia’s experience includes all phases of administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships; serving as the fiduciary for estates and trusts; formulating estate plans, drafting the necessary documents and assisting the client with the implementation of the client’s estate plan; post-mortem tax planning; preparation of federal and state personal, fiduciary, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax returns; and representing clients in estate and gift tax return audits. Virginia believes in the importance of preserving family relationships by providing high quality estate planning documents and appropriate post mortem advice. She has been involved in drafting probate related legislation and testifying before the NH Legislature on the same. Virginia has been a speaker at various estate planning and estate administration seminars, including numerous NH Bar Association continuing legal education seminars.
