Victor Pasternack is Of Counsel and managing partner emeritus of Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano LLP in New York, New York. The firm represents individuals in workers' compensation, Social Security Disability, civil service disability pension matters, and Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs. Mr. Pasternack has more than four decades of legal experience representing injured workers and individuals seeking benefits after workplace and other serious injuries.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pasternack has remained active in organizations focused on workers’ rights and workplace injury law. He is a founding member of the Injured Workers’ Bar Association and previously chaired the Workers' Compensation Committee of the Brooklyn Bar Association. He also served as the New York State Captain for Workers’ Compensation for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now known as the American Association for Justice. In addition, he is a past president of the New York State Workers' Compensation Bar Association and a member of the Workplace Injury Litigation Group and the New York State Bar Association’s Insurance, Personal Injury and Compensation Law Section, Workers’ Compensation Division. He serves on the Board of Directors of WILG – Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group, a national organization that supports advocacy for injured workers.
Mr. Pasternack frequently speaks on workers’ compensation law and related issues before trial lawyer organizations and labor unions. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where he taught a course on workers’ compensation law. He has also lectured for programs presented to Workers’ Compensation Board law judges and for continuing legal education programs, including the Practicing Law Institute. For more than twenty-seven years, he has served as the reporter and lecturer for the “Workers’ Compensation” chapter at the New York State Trial Lawyers Association’s annual “Decisions” program, a seminar attended by attorneys from across New York.
In addition to his legal work, Mr. Pasternack is a member of the New York State Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health and has conducted workshops for union members through the organization’s workers’ compensation committee conferences. In 2012, he was elected a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. He is Lead Counsel Rated in workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability law and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mr. Pasternack has been selected to the Super Lawyers list in the area of Workers’ Compensation for 2025 by Super Lawyers Magazine, marking the seventeenth time he has received this recognition. He is also rated AV ® Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
In 2018, Mr. Pasternack received the Big Apple Award from the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists at the organization’s 26th Annual James “Jim” Bell Scholarship Dinner.
