Biography
Valentina Mejia joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2024 and represents injured individuals in Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, she is committed to advocating for people who have been harmed and helping them understand their legal options after an injury.
Valentina grew up in a suburb outside of Atlanta with a strong appreciation for family and community. Raised by an Argentinian mother and a Colombian father, she and her three younger siblings grew up bilingual in English and Spanish. She spent many summers visiting extended family in Uruguay and Argentina, experiences that continue to shape her personal and professional values.
From an early age, Valentina knew she wanted to become an attorney. While in college, she welcomed her daughter and, with the support of her family, remained focused on her education. She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a certificate in legal studies.
Valentina earned her Juris Doctor and began her legal career at a Charlotte law firm representing employers and insurance companies in civil litigation defense and workers’ compensation matters. She later chose to shift her focus to representing injured people, joining the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin to work directly with clients who need guidance through the personal injury claims process.
Valentina regularly communicates with new and prospective clients throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, explaining the benefits of legal representation and setting clear expectations for personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. As a Spanish-speaking attorney, she is particularly dedicated to assisting Spanish-speaking individuals by helping them overcome language barriers, understand their rights, and navigate the legal system. She is also an active member of the firm’s Latino Outreach Committee and participates in cultural, professional, and educational events within the Hispanic and Latino community.
