Scott Williams represents clients principally in the health care, municipal and gaming industries. Scott’s practice includes defense of health care and personal injury matters, personnel issues, and workers’ compensation matters. His experience includes interacting with and advising his corporate and governmental clients on a daily basis with regard to a wide variety of tort liability, regulatory, contractual, personnel and general risk issues. Scott has also successfully defended major corporations in class action and mass tort claims, product liability, and real estate claims. Scott is licensed in Missouri and Illinois, practicing principally in the Missouri and federal trial and appellate courts.
Scott started his college career by attending Freed-Hardeman University, in west Tennessee, where he studied the general liberal arts with a focus on Bible and ministry. Scott then served as a full time minister/pastor for various churches in the Midwest from 1977 though 1983. During his legal career Scott has almost continuously also served as the lead preaching minister for various churches in the St. Louis area, while practicing law on a full time basis. In 1983 Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas State University, where he was selected by faculty as the “outstanding graduate in philosophy.” In 1983 he enrolled in the University of Mississippi Law School, where he ultimately earned his J.D., magna cum laude, and achieved the number one academic ranking in his 1986 graduating class. While at Ole Miss, Scott also served a term as the Articles Associate Editor for the Mississippi Bar Journal.
Scott is licensed to practice law in the States of Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the St. Louis Area Heath Lawyers Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association. Scott was born in Kennett, Missouri, and grew up mostly in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Scott, his wife Catherine, their two children and two Bassett Hounds reside in St. Charles, Missouri.
