Uwe Bärenz

Uwe Bärenz is a partner at POELLATH in Berlin. He focuses on private investment funds, GP and investors advice. He is predominantly engaged in private equity funds, including cross-border work, mainly Luxembourg, tax and regulatory issues, filings, terms and conditions, private and public placements, investors' needs (pension funds, insurance companies, investment funds, fund of funds, private clients), complex secondary transactions.

He is one of the most experienced advisors for the establishment of private equity funds in Central Europe. His clients include several of the most successful German private equity fund managers. His consulting approach aims to condense complex legal requirements into practicable concepts and to transform the conflicting interests of the parties involved into well-balanced agreements.

He is consistently ranked as one of Germany's leading expert in his areas of expertise.

Uwe joined POELLATH in 1999 and was appointed as partner in 2005. He is actively involved as co-head of BAI's Committee of investors regulatory law (BAI is the German Association for Alternative Investments). He is one of the founders of the Hamburg Funds Forum (Hamburger Fondsgespräche), held on an annual basis since 2007 and well-established in the market. In addition, he lectures at EBS University for Business and Law and at the Munich Technical University.

Uwe studied philosophy and law in Berlin and was admitted to the bar in 1999. He has previously advised insurance companies.
