Usher L. (Larry) Brown is a Shareholder in the Government Relations group at Greenspoon Marder. He is certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in both Civil Trial and Education Law, and has significant experience in constitutional law, government law, construction, commercial transactions, trade regulation and administrative law. He is the recipient of the highest rating (AV) given by Martindale-Hubbell for legal ability and ethics. Mr. Brown is recognized in education law and municipal law by Best Lawyers in America, Orlando Magazine and Orlando Business Journal, as a Florida Super Lawyer by Law and Politics and a Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend. He was inducted into the Litigation Counsel of America.
Mr. Brown has served as Chair of the Florida Bar’s Education Law Certification Committee and the Bar’s Education Law Committee. He served as City Attorney for the City of Winter Park, and as attorney for the School Board of Osceola County. In addition, he also serves as special counsel for other school boards, cities, counties, special districts and other government offices throughout Florida.
Mr. Brown is admitted to practice in Florida state and federal courts. He is admitted to The Florida Bar, and the Bars of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Northern District, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Claims Court. He earned his law degree from the University of Florida in 1980, and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.
