Uriel F. O´Farrell, Estudio O´Farrell’s Senior Partner practice focuses on corporate work, mergers & acquisitions and energy transactions regulation and disputes. He is a Partner of the firm since 1982. Mr. O´Farrell has a law degree (Abogado) from Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires). He was admitted to the Buenos Aires Bar in Argentina in 1977.
During 1978 Mr. O´Farrell worked in Ford Motor Company Legal Department (Dearborn Michigan, USA). He coursed the Academy American and International Law, The Southwestern Legal Foundation (Dallas, Texas, USA) in 1988. He is a member of the International Bar Association, Section of Energy and Natural Resources Law Vice Chairman Power Law Committee.
Mr. O´Farrell advised numerous domestic and foreign companies in corporate matters and in the energy and infrastructure sectors including oil production and exploration; natural gas production and distribution and electricity generation, transmission, marketing and distribution. In the above mentioned areas he has participated in large mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and privatizations transactions, financing, regulatory advice, litigation and arbitration including investment treaty arbitration.
Among others, Mr. O´Farrell has advised Pampa Energía S.A., and its electricity distributors and power generating companies as well as The National Grid Co. Plc, Duke Power, the Uruguay electricity and gas utilities (UTE), EXXON, Gas Natural SDG, Suez, ENI S.p.A. (Italy) and YPF S.A.
Mr. O´Farrell is a citizen of Argentina and is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
