Biography

Trey Bolling is a shareholder in the Firm's Birmingham office, where he is a member of the Tax and Real Estate practice groups. Trey focuses his practice on tax and entity matters, regularly advising investors, sponsors, and developers on the structuring and execution of complex transactions in the real estate and private equity sectors. His work includes investment structuring, joint venture and fund formation, exit planning, and related partnership tax matters. Trey also advises clients on tax and economic development incentives, including qualified opportunity zones, historic tax credits, and state and local incentive programs.

He has extensive experience advising nonprofit organizations — both taxable and tax-exempt — on the recently rewritten Alabama Nonprofit Corporation Law, including nonprofit formation, governance matters, and fundamental transactions such as nonprofit mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and dissolutions. In addition, Trey assists clients with a range of general business transactions, drawing on his tax and corporate experience to craft practical solutions that advance strategic objectives.
