Trevor Allen is a partner in the Estates and Trusts Practice Group at Selzer Gurvitch in Bethesda, Maryland. His practice focuses on trusts and estates, including estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related tax matters. Trevor works with individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held business owners to develop practical strategies tailored to their personal, financial, and succession planning goals. Clients value his thoughtful approach and his ability to explain complex legal and tax concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Trevor advises clients on a broad range of estate planning and wealth transfer matters, including the preparation of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced planning documents designed to address asset preservation, business succession, and transfer tax considerations. He also counsels clients on tax and corporate issues that intersect with estate and succession planning objectives.
In addition to his estate planning practice, Trevor represents personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries in trust and estate administration matters. He guides fiduciaries through the probate and administration process, including estate and trust accounting, fiduciary responsibilities, and tax compliance. His experience includes advising on estate and generation-skipping transfer tax matters, preparation and review of Form 706 federal estate tax returns, and fiduciary income tax planning and compliance, including Form 1041 filings.
Trevor joined Selzer Gurvitch in 2007 as a paralegal and became a partner in 2025. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and received his B.A. with Honors in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. Trevor has been recognized for several years as a Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star. A Montgomery County native and resident, he enjoys spending time with his family and cheering for the Terps.
