Tracy Lyle is a partner at Nelligan Law, and leader of our Litigation Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Tracy was a partner at Ottawa Valley law firm. She has broad and significant experience in personal injury and insurance litigation, employment law and commercial litigation. Tracy also acts as general counsel to a number of organizations including a local school board.

With regard to personal injury, Tracy has acted for severely injured individuals for more than twenty years. She is passionate about helping people and strives to deal with the real impact that an injury has had on someone. It is most often a very difficult period in their lives and Tracy strives to make a meaningful connection with her clients, assisting them fairly and kindly to reach a resolution that allows them to move forward with financial security.

As a senior litigator, Tracy acts for both employers and employees in employment law matters and has experience in human rights matters, workplace safety and insurance claims, and long term disability matters. For decades, she has provided practical and client focused employment related advice to businesses and individuals.

Tracy believes that clear communication is essential to a good client relationship. She makes sure not only to manage expectations, but also to be responsive to her clients’ concerns, understanding what’s important to them, and protecting their interests. She is reasonable and practical, and her strength is being able to deal with the real issues at stake, not wasting time on things that won’t make a tangible difference to her clients’ well-being.

Tracy has been a frequent speaker at continuing legal education conferences providing papers and presentations on a variety of litigation topics.

Outside of work, Tracy is very much involved with the lives of her three sons. She also enjoys running, biking, travelling to different parts of the world, and spending time at her cottage on the Ottawa River.
