Timothy Chubb is a Partner in the Business Law Group at Loopstra Nixon in Toronto, Ontario. His practice focuses on Corporate Law, Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Private Funds Law. Tim advises clients on private equity and venture capital transactions, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, fund formation matters, and other strategic corporate transactions.
Tim works with private equity firms, venture capital investors, founders, management teams, and established businesses across a range of industries, including technology, media and telecommunications, manufacturing, environmental services, agriculture, consumer products, and government-related sectors. He regularly assists clients with transaction structuring, acquisitions, financings, shareholder matters, and complex commercial arrangements involving Canadian and international business operations.
His practice includes advising on sophisticated domestic and international deal structures, with experience representing clients through all stages of the transaction process, from initial negotiations and due diligence to closing and post-transaction integration. Tim also advises private funds and investment managers on fund formation and related regulatory and governance matters.
In addition to his legal practice, Tim is active in the corporate and private equity community. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the American Bar Association, the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, and the Association for Corporate Growth. He has also spoken at conferences and industry events on topics relating to corporate law, private equity, venture capital, and mergers and acquisitions.
