Tim Louman-Gardiner is a Partner at Farris LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia. His practice focuses on Corporate and Commercial Litigation, creditors’ remedies and collections, bankruptcy and insolvency, corporate restructuring, construction disputes, and estates litigation. Tim represents clients in complex commercial disputes and has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia. He also assists clients with alternative dispute resolution matters, including arbitration and mediation.
Tim regularly advises secured and unsecured creditors, debtor companies, receivers, liquidators, and other stakeholders in insolvency and restructuring proceedings. His experience includes matters involving the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, receiverships, foreclosures, personal bankruptcies, and proceedings under the Winding-Up and Restructuring Act. He also advises corporate clients on restructuring and insolvency-related issues affecting ongoing business operations and commercial relationships.
His Corporate and Commercial Litigation practice includes contractual disputes, shareholder and governance disputes, banking litigation, real estate litigation, valuation and dissent proceedings, and defamation matters. Tim also acts in construction disputes, including builder’s lien claims, and in estates litigation involving accounting and committee proceedings.
Tim earned his law degree and political science degree from the University of British Columbia. During his time at UBC, he served as an elected member of the university’s Board of Governors and as an appointed member of the UBC Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Outside of his legal practice, Tim is an amateur football referee who officiates junior and university games across Western Canada. He also enjoys spending time with his two young children.
