Tim is a senior industrial relations practitioner and has specialised in the area for more than a decade. He provides strategic and operational advice on all aspects of the health and aged care industries including legislative compliance, human resources and business drivers.
He has been involved in many of the landmark industrial relations decisions in both industries during the last decade.
Tim’s work includes providing strategies for employers to deal with negotiating and implementing agreements under the Fair Work Act 2009 and providing broad strategic advice identifying industrial issues brought about by the Act.
He is heavily involved in the acute health sector for private, church and charitable organisations. He has acted on behalf of the Queensland Government in its arbitration of the Federal Public Sector Award and the Queensland Ambulance Services Determination and more recently, the Queensland Health pay dispute.
He has acted for providers of aged care and health care in disputes involving Fair Work Australia on matters such as enterprise bargaining, pay rates, redundancy and change of hours. Tim has been a member of the Queensland Law Society’s Elder Law committee for over 10 years.
Tim is also a guest lecturer with the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology’s Business School of Philanthropy and Nonprofit studies.
