Dr. Thure Schubert is an Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt) admitted to practice in Germany since 1994. He joined Vossius & Partner Patentanwälte Rechtsanwälte mbBin 1998 and has been a partner of the firm since 2005. Based in Munich, Dr. Schubert advises national and international clients on matters involving Intellectual Property Law, Litigation, and Technology Law.
His practice focuses on advising companies and institutions on a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patent disputes, licensing arrangements, and issues relating to employee inventions. Dr. Schubert represents clients in litigation before German patent infringement courts and assists in arbitration and other out-of-court dispute resolution proceedings. He also works closely with patent attorneys in patent opposition and revocation proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO), the German Federal Patent Court, and the German Federal Court of Justice.
In addition, Dr. Schubert counsels clients on licensing agreements and matters arising under the German Act on Employee’s Inventions, including the drafting of contracts and the development of remuneration models for employed inventors. His work frequently involves advising technology-driven businesses and research institutions on the management and protection of intellectual property rights.
Dr. Schubert studied law at the Universities of Passau, Munich, and Cardiff. He completed his doctoral thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, where he graduated with the distinction “summa cum laude.”
He regularly speaks on intellectual property and technology law topics at national and international conferences. Dr. Schubert has authored numerous professional publications and contributes to the Münchener Vertragshandbuch zum Lizenzvertrags- und Arbeitnehmererfinderrecht as well as the Beck’sche Formularsammlung zum Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht.
He has been recognized in Who’s Who Legal 2019 for his work in patent law.
Dr. Schubert is an active member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Licensing Executives Society (LES), and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
