Thomas P. Lambert is a trusted advisor to multinational organizations, local businesses, insurance companies, and their insureds. Tom represents clients in commercial and civil litigation as well as corporate and real estate transactions, providing advice and counsel. His breadth of experience extends across nearly every area of law, including professional liability, premises liability, products liability, employment, and directors & officers liability, involving claims of construction defect, personal injury, wrongful death, discrimination, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligence. He also serves as general counsel to local businesses throughout Fairfield County.

Tom is a good listener and a creative problem solver who guides his clients through complex disputes and other business-related challenges. Clients trust his guidance and know he will zealously advocate on their behalf to resolve matters that align with their business goals, whether through motion practice, pre-litigation settlement, mediation, arbitration, trial, or other strategies Tom regularly implements to achieve successful outcomes.

Over his 25 years of practicing law, Tom has witnessed countless legal challenges, appeared before state, federal and appellate courts, commissions, agencies, and regulatory and licensing boards throughout Connecticut and the Northeast, and has opposed adversaries of varied temperaments and practice styles. This experience has honed his skills and reputation as a go-to lawyer for nearly any type of legal matter. Lawyers, accountants, actuaries, realtors, architects, engineers and insurance agents, and brokers not only refer clients to Tom, but they also retain him to defend their malpractice claims.

Insurance companies hire Tom to represent their insureds in complex, high-exposure matters, such as the Kleen Energy explosion in Middletown, CT, that left multiple people dead or seriously injured and caused significant property damage. He also recently represented a construction company involved in the collapse of a rebar cage used to build a bridge abutment, which resulted in multiple injured parties, one of whom sustained a brain injury, paralysis, and blindness and was later conserved and institutionalized.

In commercial matters, Tom counsels U.S. and multinational corporations, local businesses, and condominium and homeowners associations on litigation and non-litigious disputes involving joint-venture agreements, buy-sell agreements, violations of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, and breach of contract. He also assists clients with management-related issues, including discrimination, sexual harassment, disability accommodation, wage and hour law, Family Medical Leave Act, and termination. He routinely advises clients on strategies to minimize risk that could lead to future litigation.

Businesses and individuals throughout Connecticut retain Tom to help them resolve matters efficiently and cost-effectively using alternative dispute resolution methods. While most of Tom’s practice encompasses defending clients, his reputation as an assertive litigator and trial attorney with the ability to assess matters accurately and quickly has made him a highly sought-after mediator and arbitrator.

Tom’s accomplishments have been recognized by the legal industry and the Connecticut business community with accolades, including an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-review rating in the legal industry that recognizes attorneys for their professional excellence, legal acumen, communication skills, and ethical standards. He also was named to the Fairfield County Business Journal’s coveted list of “40 Under 40.”
