For nearly 18 years, Thomas Kamvosoulis has successfully guided clients through the litigation process and helped them achieve cost-efficient, pragmatic solutions to a wide array of legal problems. Tom’s expertise is advising clients in complex corporate disputes, with a particular emphasis on the healthcare industry. Tom has represented physicians, medical groups, surgery centers, vendors and related businesses in a wide-range of matters, including practice dissolutions, partnership buyouts, shareholder divorces, minority oppression cases, restrictive covenant enforcement, trade secrets, and contract disputes of all shapes and sizes. Tom strongly believes that to succeed in litigation, an attorney must (1) fully understand the client’s problem, (2) develop a detailed strategy, and (3) properly manage expectations throughout the process. Tom has appeared in federal and state courts throughout the country and has successfully tried cases to verdict in multiple jurisdictions. Tom has also arbitrated cases to conclusion in multiple forums including the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. In addition, Tom has represented individuals and companies in class action cases throughout his career. On multiple occasions, he has successfully defended companies in nationwide and statewide consumer fraud class actions, defeating class certification and/or obtaining dismissal in every case. Tom has also successfully represented class action plaintiffs in wage and hour litigation. Having managed class action cases on both sides of the aisle, he has a keen understanding of how to navigate the unique procedural issues facing plaintiffs and defendants, how to expose the other party’s weaknesses and, in turn, how to implement a winning strategy for his clients.
Tom also serves as outside general counsel to a number of private companies. In this role, Tom provides advice on business issues such as corporate governance, company documents, and proposed transactions. Tom also counsels clients on employment issues such as discrimination claims, whistleblowers, and compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws. Tom focuses clients on developing and implementing policies that will limit their exposure and minimize litigation risk in a practical and cost-effective manner.
