Thomas G. Siracusa has been with Power Rogers LLP since 1986, representing individuals and families in complex personal injury and wrongful death litigation in Chicago, Illinois, and throughout the state. His practice includes Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Plaintiffs, Medical Malpractice Law - Plaintiffs, Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, and Product Liability Litigation - Plaintiffs. He has obtained multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in cases involving medical negligence, defective products,automobile collisions, trucking accidents, unsafe medications, and catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Siracusa has represented clients in numerous significant medical malpractice matters. In 2015, he obtained a $23 million settlement on behalf of a woman who suffered brain damage and quadriplegia during labor as a result of medical negligence. The settlement has been reported as the largest Illinois settlement involving a birth-related injury to a mother.
He also secured a $19.25 million settlement for a child who suffered brain damage following a medication overdose. At the time, the result was reported as the largest medical malpractice settlement recorded against Cook County.
In another notable case, Mr. Siracusa obtained a $15 million settlement in 2014 for the family of a woman who died after receiving excessive radiation during a surgical procedure. The settlement is among the larger wrongful death recoveries reported in Illinois.
Mr. Siracusa maintains an active product liability practice representing clients injured by dangerous and defective products. He recently recovered $8 million for a worker who sustained serious orthopedic injuries following the failure of elevator cables. His experience also includes litigation involving defective seatbelts, airbags, tires, medications, and medical devices.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Siracusa writes and speaks on medical malpractice, product liability, trial practice, and evidentiary issues. He has published materials for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and has served on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Board of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
