Attorney Theodore "Ted" Heiser is a Director in Suisman Shapiro’s Civil Litigation Department, where he concentrates his practice in personal injury and employment law. With more than three decades of litigation experience, Ted has built a reputation as a skilled trial attorney who has successfully represented clients in complex matters in state and federal courts throughout Connecticut, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Before joining Suisman Shapiro, Ted was a founding member of Sullivan Heiser in Clinton, Connecticut. Throughout his career, he has tried numerous cases to verdict involving wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, partnership disputes, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and other high-stakes civil litigation matters.
Ted represents individuals and businesses in all areas of personal injury law, including motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, liquor liability, and premises liability claims. His extensive employment law practice includes matters involving workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, free speech issues, and civil rights violations. He regularly advises and represents both employees and employers in disputes involving discrimination based on age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity. Ted also handles litigation involving non-compete agreements, non-solicitation provisions, confidentiality agreements, and other restrictive covenants.

Since 2013, he has been selected to Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers for Employment & Labor Law. Ted earned his Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College in 1991 and his Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in 1995, where he served as a member of the Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, as well as the federal courts of Connecticut and Maryland.
