esia works at the intersection of science, business and intellectual property, helping clients protect the ideas and innovations behind their businesses. Her practice focuses on patents, trademarks and copyright, with a particular appreciation for the technical and commercial considerations that shape an effective IP strategy.
Before becoming a lawyer, Tesia studied chemistry at the University of Alberta, complementing her science degree with a minor in business. That combination gives her a useful lens through which to understand both the technology behind an innovation and the business it is intended to support.
Tesia joined Parlee as a summer student in 2020 and returned to complete her articles, joining the firm as an associate in 2023. During law school, she volunteered with Student Legal Services and worked as a Writing Fellow in the first-year Legal Research and Writing course.
Outside the office, Tesia can usually be found exploring Edmonton’s river valley with her husband and dog or taking in a performance by one of the city’s local arts organizations.
