Before joining the firm, Tanya served as a legal assistant, legal intern and law clerk for firms in Los Angeles, San Diego and Bakersfield. She worked as a student attorney at the University of San Diego Education and Disability Clinic where she was responsible for meeting clients who could not afford legal counsel. Her responsibilities also included counseling clients, representing them and their interests during meetings, and if necessary, filing a complaint and preparing for formal mediation and hearings.
Tanya was selected as one of the 2021 “20 Under 40 People to Watch” in Bakersfield Life Magazine, which highlights outstanding young men and women whom Bakersfield can be proud of, who possess a hard work ethic, dedication, and a passion for volunteering. She was also selected to Greater Bakersfield Chamber’s “Leadership Bakersfield”, a 10-month prestigious leadership program in which participants come together to help create a better Bakersfield.
Tanya is a board member for the Kern Community Foundation, a charitable resource for local donors and corporations which annually raises more than $1 million during its Give Big Kern fundraising event. She is also involved in various activities at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Bakersfield. You can find her, for example, serving food at the annual Greek Food Festival, which benefits church and other community projects. She is also an Executive Board Member of the Bakersfield Christian High School Alumni Association.
She is fluent in Arabic.
