Susan E. Gunter

Susan Gunter, partner since 2002 at Dutton Brock LLP, holds an LLM in Civil Litigation (Osgoode), an LLB (UNB), and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. She is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada (Products Liability Law, Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation). Her litigation practice defends domestic and international corporations and insurers. She has appeared before federal and provincial tribunals, at all levels of court in Ontario and at the Federal Court of Canada. She is consulted for legal and risk management education and speaks frequently on litigation, professionalism and ethics, and privacy. Susan is a member of the peer-selected International Association of Defense Counsel, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and Association of Defense and Trial Attorneys. She served as President of Canadian Defence Lawyers, Director of The Advocates' Society, Director of DRI – Voice of the Defense Bar, Director of Canadian Defence Lawyers Foundation. She chairs the Globalization Working Group of the DRI Center for Law and Public Policy, co-chaired The Advocates’ Society Personal Injury Practice Group and sits on the Toronto Civil Bench and Bar Committee. She has authored articles for the Annual Review of Civil Litigation, The Advocates’ Quarterly, and For the Defense.
