Sue practices primarily in the area of insurance defence and has been involved in a number of complex litigation matters on diverse issues including fatality claims, large fire losses, property losses, SEF 44 matters and serious personal injuries. She has also acted as counsel in commercial and construction litigation cases, including negligent construction and leaky condo construction. Her clients appreciate her focus and eye for detail, as well as her ability to provide a “big picture” assessment of a claim and its inherent risks.
Sue understands that closure is beneficial and that pursuing litigation can be taxing on all parties. She regularly engages in formal and informal settlement conferences, resolving many issues for her clients through judicial dispute resolution and private mediation. When a matter cannot be settled without resorting to trial, Sue zealously represents her client’s interests and has appeared before every level of court in Alberta over her years of practice.
