Stew's practice is that of general litigation with focus on personal injury, construction and commercial disputes, and the defence of lawyers in disciplinary matters. He has appeared in the Courts of Queen's Bench of Alberta and Saskatchewan; the Supreme Courts of British Columbia, Yukon and Ontario; and the Courts of Appeal of Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. Stew has also appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and regulatory bodies including The Law Society of Alberta, College of Physicians and Surgeons, College of Physiotherapists, College of Pharmacists, and the Workers' Compensation Board.
Stew also has extensive experience in Mediation and Arbitration, having acted as a Mediator and Arbitrator in more than 100 cases. He has been a guest lecturer and presenter for the University of Alberta, Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, Canadian Bar Association, and Lorman Education Services.
