Seasly brings nearly 30 years of experience representing and counseling employers nationwide on a broad range of labor and employment matters. Workplace Investigations & Administrative DefenseSteven represents private companies, public corporations, universities, nonprofit organizations, and other entities in internal and external workplace investigations involving harassment claims, whistleblower allegations, fraud claims, and other alleged unlawful conduct. He also has successfully defended management clients in Ohio and across the country in complex employment and labor disputes and investigations before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Ohio Department of Education, the Industrial Commission of Ohio, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the Department of Labor and OSHA, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Labor Relations Board.

Employee Relations, Compliance & TrainingIn addition to his national employment litigation practice, Steven advises clients across the country on employee relations, employment law compliance, and risk avoidance initiatives. His counseling includes hiring and termination decisions, discipline, employee handbook drafting, policy implementation and enforcement, litigation avoidance strategies, and proactive compliance with employment laws, rules, and regulations. Steven also has presented more than 250 labor and employment law seminars and training sessions for clients, trade associations, human resources groups, and chamber of commerce organizations.
Union AvoidanceSteven also maintains a strong union avoidance practice, representing and counseling employers in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, South Dakota, Georgia, and Iowa in union organizing drives and secret ballot elections before the National Labor Relations Board. Throughout his career, each of his management-side clients subject to a secret ballot election has remained undefeated and union free.
Firm LeadershipAs the former sole Labor and Employment partner in Hahn Loeser’s Cleveland office, Steven has led the growth and expansion of a practice group that earned Chambers USA recognition in 2026. In addition to chairing the practice group, Steven has served on the Firm’s Board of Directors since 2023.
Steven is admitted to practice in Ohio, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. He also has been admitted pro hac vice in several state and federal jurisdictions across the country, including Florida, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, to protect his clients’ interests wherever needed.
