Steven Ferri is a Partner in the Municipal, Land Use Planning and Development Law Group at Loopstra Nixon in Toronto, Ontario.
His practice focuses on Municipal Law and a broad range of land use planning and development matters for public and private sector clients throughout Ontario. Steven advises clients on planning, environmental, heritage, and municipal approval matters, as well as issues involving municipal by-law compliance and enforcement, expropriation, freedom of information applications, conflict of interest matters, and election law compliance.
Steven represents municipalities, private companies, electricity generators and distributors, and real estate development firms in connection with minor variance applications, consents, official plan and zoning by-law amendments, growth plan conformity matters, complex municipal agreements, site plan approvals, and development charge appeals.
He regularly appears before municipal authorities and administrative tribunals, including the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (formerly the Ontario Municipal Board), the Conservation Review Board, municipal councils, and committees of adjustment.
Steven joined Loopstra Nixon LLP as a summer student in 2008, completed his articles with the firm in 2009–2010, and became an associate following his call to the Ontario Bar in 2010.
