Steven Brassard is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Fasken’s Québec City office. His practice focuses on sensitive, high-stakes financial matters, including fraud, asset recovery, shareholder disputes, and bankruptcy and insolvency, where responsiveness, strategic judgment and rigour are key.
He regularly assists companies and financial institutions faced with embezzlement and sophisticated fraudulent schemes, with the clear objective of identifying, freezing and recovering assets as quickly as possible. Recognized for his extensive experience in extraordinary remedies, including safeguard orders, seizures before judgment, and Mareva and Norwich injunctions, he helps clients regain control of critical situations and effectively protect their interests.
Steven also has a strong bankruptcy and restructuring practice and provides guidance on insolvency-related disputes and strategic matters.
He holds a CEC (Certified in Ethics and Compliance) designation from HEC Montréal and advises clients on governance, ethics and compliance, particularly with regard to preventing corruption and collusion.
